Advanced Layering Techniques

Workshop description: This is an advanced class with an emphasis on sophisticated layering techniques. Students will experiment with new approaches to the application of MX dyes, including variably colored immersion effects, thickened and printed dyes used for multi-color screen printing with a stencil and also subtractive dye printing with a screen. Three resists - flour paste, ordinary school glue and soy wax - will also be explored in an effort to build a complex and intriguing surface.

Tuition: $425.00
Level: Advanced - Participants must have a working knowledge of fiber reactive MX dyes in order to keep pace with the class.
