Print permanent images on 100% cotton or silk fabric using your ink
jet or bubble jet printer and Bubble Jet Set 2000. This is an exciting and inexpensive way
for you to prepare your own fabric sheets for printing. One bottle prepares 50 - 60
8½" x 11" fabric sheets. Also, the fabric maintains its original feel and
texture. Weve found that Bubble Jet Set 2000 works best with Canon, Epson and
Hewlett Packard printers. No, we dont have any affiliation with any of them. Always
do test samples before working on a large project. For additional information, visit our
website at www.prochemical.com.
Procedure 2. Cut your fabric to approximately 9 x 11 ½ inches (23 x 29 cm) and
place in a flat plastic pan. 3. Shake the bottle of Bubble Jet Set 2000 well. Then pour some into
the flat pan, making sure there is enough of it to completely saturate the fabric. You can
stack your fabric sheets, making sure that each new sheet is saturated with Bubble Jet Set
2000. Be sure to keep the bottle tightly capped when not in use. Allow the fabric to stay
in this solution for 5 minutes. 4. After 5 minutes, remove the fabric and hang it on a line to air
dry. We do not recommend squeezing out the excess solution or drying the prepared fabric
in the dryer. Do not pour the excess Bubble Jet Set 2000 back into the original container.
It can be reused, but store it in a separate container. 5. Now for the fun part!!! You can print any computer image directly
onto your prepared fabric. Cut a piece of freezer paper that is at least ½ inch (1½ cm)
bigger on all four sides than your prepared fabric. Iron the shiny side of the freezer
paper to the back side of the prepared fabric using a cool iron. Iron out any air bubbles
that may occur between the fabric and the freezer paper. These will not allow your image
to print properly. NOTE: We have found that it is easier to place the prepared fabric right side down on
your ironing board and then placing the shiny side of the freezer paper down, on top of
the fabric. Ironing from the dull side of the freezer paper will prevent the shiny side
from sticking to your iron. 6. Using a rotary cutter and mat, trim your fabric to 8 ½ x 11 inches
(21½ x 28 cm), which removes any loose threads that may get caught in your printer. 7. Just insert the fabric into your printer and print your computer
image. 8. Once you have printed the fabric, allow it to dry for at least 30
minutes. 9. Peel off the freezer paper from the fabric. 10. Wash the fabric with a mild detergent in the washing machine on a
gentle cycle, or by hand, using cold water. Make sure you have plenty of water to allow
your fabric to move freely, so that it does not fold back upon itself. Dry the fabric on
medium heat in your dryer. Your fabric is now ready to use! © Copyright 2002

1. Scour the fabric by machine washing in HOT 140oF (60oC)
water, or by hand in a pot on the stove with ½ tsp (2 gm) PRO Dye Activator or Soda Ash
and ½ tsp (2.5 ml) Synthrapol per pound of fabric (454 gm, or 3 to 4 yards cotton muslin,
or 8 yards 8mm China Silk, or 3 Medium T-shirts, or 1 sweatshirt). Rinse thoroughly. This
step does not add the dye fixative to the fabric; it prepares your fabric for dyeing by
removing any dirt, oil or sizing.
