PROfab Super Puff
Please read directions carefully before starting

PROfab Super Puff is a painting and printing medium that can be applied to cloth to achieve a three-dimensional surface, once it is dry and then heat applied with a hair dryer, heat gun, iron or oven. You can use the PROfab Super Puff as is for a white surface or you can add PROfab Color Concentrates and create an unlimited color palette. You can also paint the surface of the puffed paint with a fabric paint for a slightly different look. Super Puff can be used on any fiber content and is non-toxic.

Always test before production runs for adhesion, coverage, wash fastness and other specific requirements. For additional information visit our website at www.prochemical.com

Wear an apron or old clothes.

Never use paint utensils for food preparation.

Procedure
1. Scour your fabric
by machine washing in HOT 140 F (60 C) water, or by hand as HOT as possible with ½ tsp (1.5 gm) PRO Dye Activator or Soda Ash and ½ tsp (2 ml) Synthrapol per pound of fabric (454 gm, or 3 to 4 yards muslin, or 3 medium T-shirts, or 1 sweatshirt, or 8 yards of 8mm China Silk). Rinse thoroughly, dry and iron as necessary. This will remove all of the dirt, oil and sizing that may be on the fabric.

2. Apply the Super Puff. Apply the Super Puff directly from the jar to fabric by screen printing, block printing, hand painting, or stenciling. Allow the Super Puff to air dry on the fabric. Clean your utensils with water.

3. Heat the Super Puff. After applying Super Puff to fabric, air dry thoroughly and heat using one of the four methods outlined below.

Use a crafter’s heat gun (embossing tool) or hair dryer held about 6 inches above the surface, moving in a slow but steady manner. Heat until the surface is completely raised. Note: Your fabric may get a little out of shape as it dries. To prevent this, pin your fabric into a padded surface.

Use a dry iron at a hot setting appropriate for your fabric with the fabric sandwiched in between parchment paper. Iron from the back side for 5 minutes. OR you can place a clean dry cloth over the front of the design and iron for 5 minutes. Do not use steam. Keep the iron moving to prevent scorching.

Heating Options: You can also heat the Super Puff immediately after applying it to your cloth for a very different looking three-dimensional surface.

4. Adding color to the Super Puff. If you want to add some color, you will need to use the PROfab Color Concentrates. These Color Concentrates are pure pigments in a water suspension. To achieve a deep color, mix 1 teaspoons of Color Concentrate into 2 Tablespoons of Super Puff. Mix thoroughly with a small rubber spatula and store in a clean, covered container. You can use the colored Super Puff as is, or blend it with other colors to achieve an unlimited color palette.
