Setaskrib+ Markers

Procedure

1. Cover your work surface with plastic or newspaper.

2. Transfer your design to the fabric by tracing with carbon paper or drawing freehand onto your fabric.

3. Different Effects:

A. Using Setaskrib+ like a pencil, you can draw different widths of lines using the point or the flat side of the felt tip.

B. Superimpose one color on top of another without waiting for the layers of color to dry. They merge into one another, giving lovely color shading.

C. Setaskrib+ markers are ideal for stencilling. Use an acetate stencil or one made from a manila folder sprayed with clear acrylic sealer.

D. When used on knit jersey, the Setaskrib+ markers have a very interesting pastel or crayon look. In particular, if you use a black line as a border.

E. You can also paint on silk with the Setaskrib+ markers, making them ideal for children, beginners, and those who are not very skilled with a paint brush. Draw your contour lines with Gutta and allow to dry. Then apply the color directly to the areas, using the felt tip, like a paint brush. It is best to choose simple designs, that are not too big.

4. Heat set the color. Once you have finished your design and it’s completely dry, you need to fix the colors so they’ll be permanent. This is done by ironing. Set the temperature of your iron for the type of fabric you’ve patterned. Place a press cloth between the iron and the fabric. Iron over the design for 2 to 3 minutes, preferably from the back side of the fabric.

5. Washing. After heat setting your fabric, wait 18 hours before washing it.
